You know how you’re always finding ways to make everyone else in your life more comfortable, happy, and appreciated?

That’s awesome, but what about you?

Try this: Treat yourself (pronounced, “treatchyoself”)! While you’re thinking up ways to serve others, spend a few seconds thinking about what might bring you joy and bliss.

For me, it’s as easy as setting up my coffee maker and laying out my favorite cup and tiny spoon the night before, so I have effortless coffee every morning. I will also tidy up whatever part of the house I will see when I walk in the door or get up in the morning, so I’m more relaxed and less stressed.

Dining alone? I do that quite often and love to serve myself on a pretty plate, complete with a nice glass of wine and a little ambiance lighting.

Think of it this way: You’re helping to diminish your stress so you’re better able to deal with the everyday demands that face you. Plus, you’ve taken the responsibility of your happiness building from your family and friends – so everyone wins!

Now, go treat yourself!
